GTA Online Heists - The Flecca Job
Posted by
Mark
With the launch of the long awaited Heist update, last week, I like many others returned to the streets of Los Santos looking to scratch that criminal itch. This time for me though, I managed to bring some friends along for the ride. My long time buddy, Catseyez joined me as we ventured into the first heist, a simple grab job on a out of town bank.
Each heist comprises of several mission in a story arc. To start of with you need to case and plan the score. Then come the preparation tasks before finally taking on the heist. This start off heist is for 2 players only and serves as a tutorial. After meeting with Lester ( the heist mastermind from the main game.) he takes you to the Fleeca Bank out on the highway and helps you case the place. Then we needed to grab a armoured car from the local gangbangers and whilst I was the driver, the other player acts the hacker and the driller for the heist.
With everything in place we set off to do bad things...
Having spent almost 3 hours the week before doing the Vault of Glass in Destiny for the first time, I can safely say that I had more fun in the 45 minutes it took to rob a bank, than in all of Destiny's centre piece. Due to time constraints I havent been able to go further into the heists mode, but what I have touched has propelled GTA Online to the top of my mulitplayer games.

Middle~Earth: Shadow of Mordor - Launch Trailer
Posted by
Mark
This game has come out of nowhere for me. In the last few days the reviews have come in for Shadow of Mordor and they have been a lot better than I had expected them to be. Then I got to have some hands on time with the game at EGX this weekend and loved it! Next thing you know its pre-ordered, dispatched and on its way to me (thanks to The Game Collection).
Shadow of Mordor is a third person action adventure game with elements of Batman: Arkham series and Assassins Creed. What sets it apart is in the unique Nemesis system. This system actively monitors the rise and fall of Sauron's army, from the highest warchief to the lowliest grunt. What does that mean for the player? Well, in my brief go at EGX it meant that when I was killed by a Uruk foot soldier, he gained power and respect, which then meant he challenged a Captain to duel and won. He was then promoted to Captain and became even stronger. When I resurrected and tracked him down again, he tuanted me about how he killed me once and he would do it again. Its a cool feature and one that surely is going to change the way enemies are handled in games from now on.
To celebrate the launch of the game, WB Games have released the launch trailer. This trailer goes into the story of the game and ranger that you play. The trailer dives into the story behind the award-winning action game set between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
Talion, a Ranger of the Black Gates, is slaughtered alongside his family and is resurrected by the powerful Wraith, Celebrimbor. The two will face the might of Sauron’s Army and Black Captains with the aid of unexpected allies, ultimately confronting The Dark Lord himself.
Take a look below...
Middle-earth™: Shadow of Mordor™ is available from Friday 3rd October for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Watch_Dogs - Video Highlights
Posted by
Mark

Watch_Dogs has been out for almost a week and somehow I have managed to find the time to play the game, record some footage and edit it all together for your enjoyment. As per usual when a big title I have been anticipating finally comes out, real-life steps in and does its best to keep me away from my console.
This video just shows off some of the games features in action like hacking and how that works in various scenarios, combat and driving. Also, I found a little Easter Egg in a shop that I have put at the end. It's worth the wait

Why I Love Watch_Dogs
Posted by
Mark

Two years after its stunning unveiling at E3 2012 ushered the first glimpse of the next generation of gaming. Ubisoft's cyber crime open world game, Watch_dogs was released this week. I was there at my local branch of Game at midnight, ready to embrace this on my new shiny Next Gen platform, the PS4. There is a part of me that can't believe that I am actually getting to play this on Next Gen kit. I had expected to still be rocking the PS3 when this came out.

GTA V - One week to go...
Posted by
Mark
This time next week, I will at Game Watford waiting patiently to collect my pre-order of the most anticipated game of the year, Grand Theft Auto V. The next day is booked off work in preparation for an all night session in the beautiful sunshine of Los Santos. Though in these final days before the release, the wait can become unbearable. The advertising ramps up, the streets start to fill with promotional posters that may or may not hint at game details.
Then there are the professional games journalists that have been privileged enough to actually play the game and find it hard to let littlest of details out to gamers. As well as those naughty hackers that like to find details in source code files of pre-order PSN downloads. Finally Rockstar themselves are in full hype mode and their fantastic travel site for Los Santos and Blaine County is almost complete and holds so much information about different aspects of the game. These snippets of info are likely to make the mos cynical of gamers, salivate to get their hands on a copy.
So what can you do to survive the next seven days. Well, I am have decided to take the time to familiarise myself with the streets of Los Santos, by playing the PS2 version of GTA: San Andreas on the PS3. How about a radio show dedicated to GTA.Well tune into Absolute Radio on Sunday night for a very special show...
The Grand Theft Radio Show with Pete & Lazlow
Absolute Radio on Sunday 15 September, 8pm
Lazlow gets his own radio show on the eve of the biggest game launch of 2013. He'll be chatting with listeners and playing some classic tracks from GTA games gone-by. Pete Donaldson will be desperately trying to keep things under control.
The only other option is to trawl the Web every day for slightest snip or clip of anything to do with GTA V. To get you started, have a look at this video showing some of the in game TV adverts. The usual Rockstar brand of satire is delivered in its usual unsubtle approach. Its part of why we love GTA.
This leaves me with another chance to link to talented rapper, Dan Bull and his truly amazing gaming raps. In particular his GTA V rap from last year.
Hope this next 7 days are kind to you all. Its going to be tough, but it will be worth it!

GTA V - The countdown begins

It’s hard to believe than in just a few weeks now, we can get our hands on Rockstar’s latest crime opus, Grand Theft Auto V. As per usual Rockstar having playing their cards close to their chest regarding the details. Well, except for an embarrassing leak of a Pre-order image on Sony’s EU PlayStation Store, which lead to some details leaking. Rockstar are masters of the “Hype Train” and once again they have controlled it perfectly for the release for this their second GTA this generation. So what do we know so far…

Today on Infinity Week, its time to look at the figures themselves. These figures are highly detailed models that once placed onto the Infinity Portal transport the character into the game world. At launch there are 17 figures available. 3 of these are included in the starter kit, the rest are available as either single figures or in multi-packs. In the first wave of figures the focus is on The Incredibles, Monsters University, Cars, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Lone Ranger.

Infinity Week - Day 2 - How to use the Toy Box
Posted by
Mark
So yesterday, we looked at Disney Infinity as a whole. Today though we are going delve deeper into the awesome "Toy Box". Imagine a gameworld where Minecraft meets LittleBigPlanet. Where you can shape and create your world to look and feel like your favorite film and then make games adventures for you and your friends to play in. Welcome to the Toy Box!
The beautiful thing about the Toy Box mode is that at the surface it is simple enough to let your kids create great looking worlds with ease. Yet, peel away the surface and the various editors allow for some complex designing and customising. Lets take a look at how easy it is to use Power Discs to change the way your environment looks.
Nice and simple with great looking results. So now you have created a nice themed world what do you want to do with it? How about expanding on the idea of a race track? How would you go about making a really cool karting track? Lets see...
Finally, Lets see what happens when you combine the advance editor elements to make a working Football stadium with working scoreboards and confetti cannons.
Once again, the tagline "infinite possibilities, endless fun" springs to mind. The Toy Box is the one of the most exciting elements of the game and one that is sure to keep Little Gamers (and their parents) coming back again and again.

Infinity Week - Day 1 - What is Disney Infinity
Posted by
Mark
With the UK release of Disney Infinity only a few days away. Two Little Gamers is going to dedicate this week to this incredible new game. Let's start with the simple question... What is Disney Infinity?
Disney Infinity is a complicated thing. Collectable figures, virtual playsets and power discs, all combining into a videogame based sandbox via a portal device connected to your games console. Simply place a figure on the Infinity Portal and Presto! They are in the game for you to play with. So far its all very Skylanders, right? Wrong! Disney Infinity then takes the genre to a new level by adding Playsets and Power Disc's.
The Playset blocks fit in the back section of the portal and allow the user access to a themed world full of fun and mission. Plus it unlocks special themed items to use in the creation mode called "Toy Box". Place a Power Disc underneath your figure and you unlock a special power for them to use. Place a hexagonal Power Disc under your playset piece to unlock objects, vehicles, or even new themes for your Toy Box.
The Toy Box mode is where the real action takes place. Players can create and design their own themed worlds full of activities they can design and share with the friends and play with them. Whether it be creating a football game or a race track, even a flying race. The possibilities are endless (which is also the tagline for the game) and with the addition of more Characters (the second Wave is coming as soon as October) and new Playsets and Powers, Kids and adults can look forward to playing in Infinity for a long time to come.

Batman: Arkham Origins - Collectors Edition Revealed
Posted by
Mark
Collectors Editions are wildly popular these days and can offer the true gamer something special to treasure with their new game. Personally for me the highlights of these collectors editions over previous years have been the ones for the Batman: Arkham series. The original Arkham Asylum collectors edition gave you a life size replica of a Batarang, which was awesome (even though it was made of Plastic).
Then for the Arkham City collectors edition, you got a artbook, the soundtrack, exclusive DLC, Character skins and an awesome statue of Batman himself, looking all cool.
Now though the ultimate Batman collectors edition has been revealed. Take a look at the contents below:
The UK Batman: Arkham Origins Collector’s Edition will include the following extensive bonus content:
Exclusive Arkham Origins highly detailed premium statue featuring Batman & The Joker
80-page, full-color hardcover artbook
Assassin’s Intel Dossier, including files on the eight assassins, as well as Black Mask’s contract
1st Appearance Batman Skin DLC
Deathstroke Challenge Pack DLC – Usable throughout all the Arkham Origins Challenge maps and also includes two bonus challenge maps and two bonus Deathstroke Skins
Exclusive 3D Metal Pack
The PS3 edition will also include the Knightfall pack as an exclusive piece of content.
Just look at that statue. It is simply awesome and something that every Batman fan will want to own. The UK package will be available from 25th October, 2013 in limited quantities for the Xbox 360® and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment, and will retail for £79.99.

The cost of Disney Infinity?
Posted by
Mark
Usually the Daily Mail likes to warn its readership about the risks of playing video games. Their targets are typically games like Call of Duty, Battlefield and of course, Grand Theft Auto. This time though the Daily Mail seem to have an issue with a game for children. Disney Infinity, a video game that mixes virtual action with collectable figures.
