Well hello, Once again it has been awhile since I have written anything for the site. There is good reason for this though, I have been playing games, games, games! 2015 is proving to be one of the best years ever for video games and we have not even got to the manic winter gaming rush. So what has been keeping me playing and not writing. Well if you indulge me let me tell you about the last few months...

Little Gamers Update - Looking back at February
Posted by
Mark
This month saw a lot of newness in my life and of it good. I have started to try my hand at YouTube Let's Play videos. Currently my series of Assassin's Creed Dead Kings videos has see me earn 7 cents. The retirement plan is on hold for the foreseeable future.
February started with a huge surprise in the form of PlayStation Plus title, Yakuza 4 on PS3. This is my first experience of the Yakuza series and I have been blown away by it. Essentially, it is the spiritual successor of Shenmue, with a little bit of Streets of Rage thrown in for good measure. After spending a good hour trawling through the included story summary for Yakuza 1 to 3, I was ready to enter Tokyo underworld.

Little Gamers Update - Looking back at 2014

So 2015 is upon us all and the gaming industry is looking ahead as to what will define 2015. Rather late to the party, I wanted to take a look back at 2014 an what it meant to me and what games shone out in 2014.
2014 was the year I jumped on to the Next Gen train and have not looked back. Since getting a PlayStation 4 in March, I have played 60 PS4 titles! Not a bad amount for a new console in its first year. The Vita is still a wonderful piece of kit andhas never been far from my side and is still home to some of my best gaming moments of the year. The PS3 keeps moving around the house, as soon as I give it to the Little Gamers to play on something comes up on PS Plus that makes me take right back into my gaming den.
So what were my highlights of the year, which game swill go down as the most memorable, fun and sometimes broken? Indulge me as I take a look at my own Games of 2014 list.

Little Gamer Update - Completing the game - a new challenge

I have a problem with the way I play games. I have to have them day one. I am that kind of impulsive person that needs to have the new shiny thing. This isn't an issue for the most part, except that I tend to throw whatever I was doing to one side and that never return to it.
Most Gamers have a pile of shame, games that sat unopened waiting for the day when they are finally released from their plastic prisons and thrust into a console to complete their purpose. my pile of shame is worse than that, my pile is full of half finished games and some of the victims of this are shameful.

Little Gamers Update - The one where I forgot to post

Erm, Hi! Remember me? We used to hang out a few months back... Yeah that's right, I would write about gaming and you all had to just read my opinion and accept them. Guess what, I'm Back!
So what excuse have I got this time or letting the site slip into almost obscurity. Too much work? Too much home life issues? Nope, for a change it is none of those problems. The reason I haven't written a post for so long is that I have been seriously gaming and having an absolute blast doing so.

Little Gamer Update - Turning (PlayStation) Forty

So last week, I celebrated my Fortieth birthday and took that step over the hill. I had a great time and was kept on my toes by a series of wonderful surprises by my lovely wife. I had a surprise Weekend away in a swanky hotel in a beautiful suite. The Little Gamers came along too and it was great to have a weekend away with them before entering my birthday week. Then I had a surprise trip to the Harry Potter studios, got some wonderful presents and managed to eat out for 4 days straight! So thank you to everyone who made my birthday the most memorable birthday ever!

Little Gamers Update - This time, We're back!

Hello one again to another Little Gamer update, hot on the heels of the first proper article to hit the site since November. Been a few reasons for this as I explained in previous updates, I had a little break which turned into a long break. After Christmas though, I found myself in a bit of a gaming malaise. The arrival of new tech saw my attention diverted away from gaming. Also, since the release of the next generation of consoles, I have been looking at my PS3 rather differently. I want it to be a PS4, but it doesn't seem to have the courtesy to actually turn itself into one. The cheek of it.
