PlayStation Plus Update - October 2014

It is another mixed bag this month on the Instant Game Collection. Some people do not appear to be too happy with the list of games announced yesterday. Personally, I am very happy. So what is gaming goodness to PlayStation Plus subscribers get next week.

New on PlayStation 4:

DRIVECLUB PlayStation Plus Edition:
Almost a year after it was meant to be the launch PS4 plus offering, Driveclub is here. The Plus Edition of the game features 11 tracks and 10 beautifully crafted cars. You also have the option to upgrade to the full version for just £35 and keep the game forever.

Dust: An Elysian Tail:
Dust is a game I had on Xbox 360 and did not play. This time I fully intend to give this game a serious look. Set in a gorgeous hand-painted world on a search for your true identity. As the mysterious warrior, Dust, your action-packed journey will take you from peaceful glades to snowy mountaintops and beyond.

Spelunky:
I am the guy that didn't buy Spelunky. So, now to be given the PS4 version for free and the fact it is cross-cut makes me very happy. Spelunky is a procedurally-generated mine crawler similar to games like Rogue Legacy. If you like your gaming hard and challenging this one's for you.

New on PS Vita:

Pix the Cat:
An intense arcade game from the talented team at French studio Pastagames. You will need to rescue forsaken ducklings from the nested levels of the infamous grid of infinity whilst perfecting your skills to speed and combo up until you reach the explosive fever time!

Rainbow Moon:
An RPG with a strong emphasis on exploration, character development and turn-based battles. Choose from six playable characters with upgradeable weapons, armour and accessories, and explore more than 20 dungeons in a gripping quest that should keep you busy for at least 40 hours.

New on PlayStation 3:

Batman: Arkham Asylum:
If you havce spent any time aournd here, you may know that I have a soft spot for Batman. Especially the Arkham games. I know that people aren't happy that this original game is coming to Plus almost two years after its sequel, Arkham City, joined the IGC. Well personally I am pleased to be able to play Rocksteady's Batman games leading to the release of  Batman: Arkham Knight next June.

Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara
Capcom bring one of its classic arcade brawlers to consoles. Recruit up to three friends and battle against the mythical beasts of the Dungeons & Dragons universe. The game offers drop-in/drop-out online gameplay in one of two modes, includes a Challenge system that sets players in-game goals in return for level-ups and coins which can be spent in the Vault.

Next month sees the one year anniversary of the PlayStation 4 joining the service. Hopefully Sony have got something special up their sleeve to celebrate this.
