Gran Turismo 6 - It's coming to PS3 this year

Today, at a event to celebrate 15 years of Gran Turismo. Series creator Kazunori Yamauchi took to the stage and announced that Gran Turismo 6 will be coming to PlayStation 3 at the end of 2013. There was a brief concept video shown to announce the game, which you can watch below.

Since the announcement details have emerged about this latest installment in the 70 Million selling racing series. Polyphony have revealed that GT6 features a new game engine, that allows for a more refined user interface, a more compact and speedy operation of the game and menus ( much maligned in GT5) and a new rendering engine that pushes the limits of the PS3.

All the cars Gran Turismo 5 are all included in GT6. But notable new additions to the already impressive line-up will bring the total car list to 1200 at launch, with new cars set to be continually added online. The UK’s famous Silverstone Circuit will be just one of seven new locations in GT 6, taking the total to 33 tracks, with 71 different layouts available, 19 of them brand new.

Finally there are brand new expanded online functions that allow players to race rivals around the world in their own communities and online events.  Also players can take their experience with them with new social features on the move with the Gran Turismo 6 mobile and web app for smart phones, tablets and PC.

All it leaves me to do is show some of the first screen shots of the improved cars and tracks.
