Borderlands 2 - The scores are in

The reviews are coming in thick and fast for Borderlands 2 and they all seem to agree that this one kick-ass sequel that improves on the original whilst not betraying the originals gameplay.

A quick glance at Metacritic sees a growing collection of positve reviews. Have a look at some of these below:

The Guardian (5 Stars) - Pandora feels more like an actual place than a virtual battleground, thanks to Gearbox's attention to detail in this game...I mean, when was the last time you cared about the name of any gun manufacturer in any shooter you played recently? Listen, I've played the heck out of the COD: MW titles, and I've used a TAR-21 more times than I care to mention, but I couldn't tell you who manufactured it... The gun-makers in Borderlands 2 don't even exist, for goodness sake, and I'm already brand-loyal to one of them. Full Review

G4 TV (5 out of 5) - Borderlands 2 is a better game than Borderlands in every imaginable way. Scoff at anyone who calls it a v1.5 update; this is really what a sequel should be. At the most basic level, you've got the same great experience that the 2009 game offered, only with much more depth and variety. Full Review

GameTrailers (9.2) - The story in Borderlands 2 is by far the biggest improvement. The humor and over-the-top style that was merely glimpsed in the first game are ever-present here. Strong personalities drive the experience from beginning to end, whether it's Claptrap's sense of self-importance, Tiny Tina's hyperactivity, or Handsome Jack's spiteful annoyance. Full Review

Edge Magazine (9 out of 10) - Borderlands 2 might not develop extensively on its forebear, but it has even greater power to hold you for hours on end, deftly weaving RPG stat development with skill-based play. It's enough to make every decision you make meaningful and fun, and lend the realisation that Gearbox knows more about the fundamentals of the shooter than almost any other developer. Full Review

games(TM) (8 out of 10) - We also take some issue with Borderlands 2's sense of humour. While it's welcome, it draws so frequently on up-to-the-minute memes that it becomes hard to remain immersed in an experience supposedly taking place in the distant future, on a remote planet, and among people who have no reason to understand the significance of an arrow in the knee. Most of it's just not that funny. Full Review

More reasons to be excited about Friday. If you cannot wait that long though you can always play the amazing 8-bit de-make, The Border Lands.

What can I say but , Roll on Friday!

Borderlands 2 collaborates with Bungee, at last!

Does this mean the Master Chief is going to make an appearance in the wastelands of Pandora? Are Warthogs going to be the secret vehicle of choice?

Well, no! Sorry!

Borderlands 2 - Its only out next week!

I cant believe that we are only a week away from a return trip to everyone's favourite wasteland planet, Pandora. The original game rejuvenated the FPS market, that was filled with military shooters. It added new elements like levelling, skill trees and most importantly... loot.

Borderlands 2 brings all of that back and more, with a customizable weapons system, reworked four-seat drift-able vehicles. Dynamic quests now feature in the game. For example, taking too much time to save a friend in a quest may result in their death, which will affect the story as the player progresses. Technically, the game world is now all connected, rather than the loadable levels for each region from the first.

The four Vault Hunters from the first are no longer playable characters and instead we are introduced to their new counterparts. Salvador the Gunzerker, Maya the Siren, Zer0 the Assassin and Axton the Commando. As with the first Borderlands, each character has their own specialisation and skill trees. The Gunzerker can dual-wield any weapon, the Siren can suspend enemies in a energy bubble, the Assassin can make himself invisible for short periods and the Commando can deploy a turret to assist in a fire-fight.

Pandora has changed as well, with players being to explore new regions. From the arctic tundra, through the dangerous grasslands, past the mysterious corrosive caverns. There is also a moon base, although I don't know if the adventure will take players to it. Would be very cool though.

Also, don't forget that there is 87 Bazillion of Everything: Not just guns but now, procedurally generated shields, grenades, alien artifacts, class mods and much, much more are on offer for your loot lust.

Anyway enough of me, How about a video introduction from the owner of Pandora's Tundra Express , Sir Hammerlock!

Don't forget now... Only 7 more days until you can Joy-puke your face off!

Gamescom 2012 - Borderlands 2 Trailer

Simply titled "Come and get me", this new trailer for Borderlands 2 lets the games villain "Handsome Jack" introduce himself to you all. Of course this is accompanied by the usual visual overload of Wub Wub that I have come to love about Borderlands. Hopefully, Gamescom will see some new details about Gearbox's highly anticipated shooter.

From WubWub to Wimoweh

Wow! The guys at Gearbox are revving up the Borderlands 2 hype engine and it has started spewing some awesome stuff. Forget the Joy-Puke WubWub of the Launch date trailer. Here is the the latest trailer for Borderlands 2 and my oh my is it epic!

The only thing that could be more amazing than that visual feast is if someone made a 10 minute Claptrap Wimoweh remix...

Just as well someone did then isn't it!

Borderlands 2 - Launches 21st September!

Gearbox have announced this morning that the sequel to the awesome co-op shoot fest, Borderlands, will be available internationally on 21st September 2012 (Those lucky Americans get it earlier on the 18th).

What better way to celebrate your launch date than with a new trailer... so here it is!

To be honest, I think Gearbox are being modest. From that trailer, it looks more like 100% more Wub Wub.
