Wow Thanks Nintendo!

Nintendo have announced today that they are slashing a third off the price for a 3DS, as of 12th August. Getting ready for the Christmas rush and the threat of PS Vita, no doubt.

So, as per usual early adopters get screwed over for supporting a new brand... or do they?

Nintendo have also announced that they will be giving all early adopters 20 FREE GAMES!

"We are aware this may cause you, the loyal fans who supported Nintendo 3DS from the beginning, to lose trust in us, and this is not our intention in any way.
All of you who have kindly supported Nintendo 3DS from the beginning are Nintendo’s most important customers. Although we may not be able to completely prevent you from regretting purchasing Nintendo 3DS early, we would like to express our gratitude to our special customers like you by offering 20 free downloadable games from Nintendo eShop."

All you have to do to become a 3DS Ambassador is logon to the 3DS e-shop with console once, before the 11th August. Then from 1st September you will be able to exclusively download 10 NES games from the shop which include:

  • Super Mario Bros.™
  • Donkey Kong Jr.™
  • Balloon Fight™
  • Ice Climber™
  • The Legend of Zelda™
Which is pretty good news, but also before the end of 2011, Nintendo will release 10 Game Boy and Gameboy Advance titles, including:

  • Yoshi’s Island™: Super Mario™ Advance 3
  • Mario Kart™: Super Circuit
  • Metroid™ Fusion
  • WarioWare™, Inc.: Minigame Mania
  • Mario vs. Donkey Kong™
These games are exclusive to 3DS Ambassadors and will not be made avaliable to purchase on the e-shop to the general public. So well done to all of us 3DS owners, we just scored a whole load of cool classic games.
